"9093" Kettle

The bird is a homage to the antecessor consisting of porcelain and the ornaments on American tea set of the 19th century whereas the steel kettle itself is a tapered classic which is emphasized with a ring at the bottom and a black ball as the handle for the lid.

The kettle with the article nomber „9093“ is the head of a group of kitchen products which are designed by the American architect and designer Michael Graves in 80ies and 90ies for Alessi. With the “Bird Kettle”, Graves created an outstanding kettle which is somehow represanting a mixture of post modernity and pop and can be seen as the basis for the typical design of the 90ies.

The 9093-kettle was Graves first product for Alessi. Today, the kettle is the worldwide best selling product of the Italian company.
